ABOUT TOM COCHRANE
Canadian singer/songwriter Tom Cochrane first emerged on the scene in 1976 with
his pop-rock band Red Rider, which featured fellow Canadians Rob Baker, Peter
Boynton and Ken Greer. When they broke up, Cochrane began his solo career, busting
into the pop rock scene with the catchy, free-riding vibes of "Life is a
Highway." The single was a huge hit on both Canadian and American radio and
helped the 1992 release Mad Mad World sell more than two million copies. His 1996
album, Songs of a Circling Spirit featured acoustic versions of previously released
tracks. Cochrane's latest effort, X-Ray Sierra, was released on World Domination
Records in the spring of 1999. The album featured the single "Willie Dixon
Said."
