ABOUT TOAD THE WET SPROCKET
The band--Glen Phillips, Dean Dinning, Todd Nichols and Randy Guss--come from
Santa Barbara, Calif., and began their music career in 1986 after meeting each
other through the drama club at San Marcus High School. Their first album, Bread
And Circus, cost them $650 to record and took only eight days to record and
mix in 1988. This first record ultimately got the band their record deal in
1989 with Columbia Records. In fact, a stipulation of the deal was for Columbia
to re-release the LP with no remixes or alterations whatsoever. In 1991, Toad
released their breakthrough album Fear, which featured their most popular singles
"All I Want" and "Walk On The Ocean," both of which became
favorites of college and alternative radio programmers.
