ABOUT SINEAD QUINN
We first saw Sinéad on our screens on the Fame Academy showdown that launched the series, where she competed against David and Paul to win the final place in the Academy with 51% of the vote. After performing a stunning acoustic version of Macy Gray’s ‘I Try’, she then sang Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Go Your Own Way’ with David and Paul in the second show of the evening before being whisked off by taxi bike to the Academy. In the penultimate week Sinéad sang ‘One Way Or Another’ and then dueted with Ainslie on ‘I Can’t Get No satisfaction’ and Ronan Keating on ‘If Tomorrow Never Comes’.
In the final show we saw her sing ‘Don’t Speak’ once again and then premiére her debut single ‘I Can’t Break Down’. In the second half of the show Sinéad belted out ‘The First Cut Is The Deepest’ before her final performance of the series ‘I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues’ which she sang with David. As we now know, she narrowly lost the title to David but went on to sign a lucrative record contract with Mercury Records.
