ABOUT JOHN MURPHY
Liverpool born John Murphy (38) is among Britain's most prominent film composers
and has quickly become vital to the country's new wave of film makers, as well
as an in demand composer for US productions. A self taught musician, he became
a session player at the age of fifteen and toured and recorded with many successful
British bands of the 90s. Primarily a song-writer, John scored his first film
at 23, the award winning Brit-hit Leon the Pig Farmer. Since SNATCH (2000), he
has worked mostly of our Los Angeles, alternating between orchestral and his own
eclectic brand of scoring. In the last two years John has scored the Robert De
Niro movie CITY BY THE SEA, INTERMISSION starring Colin Farrell, Danny Boyle's
28 DAYS LATER, and the hip-hop feature FRIDAY AFTER NEXT, as well as composing
and producing music for Nike, Reebok and Apple Mac commercials.
