ABOUT ERIN ROCHA
Erin was born in Poole and is sixteen years old. She is the youngest of six children and is an auntie twice. Studying English Literature, Drama and psychology for her A levels if she would like to be a masseur if she doesn’t decide to make a career in music. Her favourite artists are Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Alicia Keys. She would like to travel in particular to India to experience a different culture. Erin Rocha was doing work experience in her local recording studio in Dorset when the studio session singer called in sick. Erin was asked to sing the vocal on a demo for ‘Can’t Do Right For Doing Wrong’, (written by Rod Clements of Lindisfarne and Nigel Stonier - Thea Gilmore) which was being sent to Norah Jones. Singer Eddie Grant heard Erin's version of the song and told the studio boss he had to release it! Erin had recorded in the same studio the year before when she made a 3 track demo CD as a present for her grandfather. The three songs were 'Torn', 'Don't Speak' and 'I Believe I Can Fly.' She is currently working on her debut album as well has staring in Romeo and Juliet in her school play. Erin made her live TV debut on This Morning last week, (singing the track live!) and also appeared on BBC TV National breakfast news last Friday. Her video will be shown on TOTP2 next week. And the new TOTP have Erin booked for her forthcoming Top 5 hit.
