ABOUT CHOCOLATE PUMA
In 1992 two Amsterdam DJs, Zki and Dobre, founded a label called Fresh Fruit.
The label was designed to release records by the duo under a number of assumed
names like The Good Men, René Et Gaston, Klatsch!, Jark Prongo, Basco and
many more. In 1995 Zki and Dobre decided to quit with the Fresh Fruit Label and
start a new label called Pssst Music, where they played both producer and label
boss, releasing both their own records and the offerings of the hottest new producers
in Holland. Chocolate Puma is the latest venture of these chameleon characters.
Their first release in 2001 was “I Wanna Be U” with vocal inspiration
provided by male vocalist Evo. " I Wanne Be U" was an international
crossover hit all over Europe. The second release in 2003 is “A Star Is
Born”. This time David Gonçalvez sang the vocals on this tune. Pete
Tong got his hands on a copy of 'A Star Is Born' and played it a couple of times
at the Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1. He even chose it to be Essential New
Tune!
